Creating a New Application

New applications are created by selecting the New menu item in the DC window. A New Application dialog appears in which you assign a unique name to the new application. An Application Design Status Logging is output to the DC Window to show you what is happening. In this case, you see status messages appear indicating that various objects are being created and that code is being generated for an event loop program and a window management program. The new application main window then appears. The window contains a default form and a basic menu including a Design menu item. This menu item is used to further refine the design of the application. The generated code ensures that this menu item only appears when the application is in design mode. At this stage, a new application does not have any other windows but the basic functionality of all menu items is in place.
