Painting a Form

Forms appear only within windows. When you access the Screen Painter using a FORM DEFINE command, the image of the window appears (either a default window or the specified form within its associated window).

Edit the various attributes of the form and of the window; if any of the attributes affects appearance, the Screen Painter immediately adjusts the image accordingly. Save changes to the form, and to the window, in any combination. The Screen Painter stores form attributes in the Object Dictionary EntitySets Forms and FormFields. Window attributes are stored in Windows.

Paint only within the window. If you do not have enough room to view the entire form, change windows or resize the window.

The association between a window and a form is strictly a matter of convenience. However, by painting forms and windows together, you have a better idea of how your completed user interface looks.
