The "snap to grid" item of the Arrange menu provides options for ensuring that when objects are added, moved, or aligned, their positions are aligned to the grid that is specified in the Drawing Preferences dialog. The three options are "Absolute", "Relative", and "None". If "None" is selected, objects are not snapped to the grid and hence can be positioned between grid points. If "Absolute" is selected, objects are positioned at the nearest horizontal and vertical grid point relative to the grid in the presentation area. If "Relative" is selected, objects are positioned at the nearest horizontal and vertical grid point relative to their owning object.
