The structure chart is a graphical presentation of the ownership relationships and relative ordering of the objects being painted. Every object in the layout, visible or not, is represented by a corresponding icon in the structure chart. There are a number of powerful operations that can be accomplished only through the structure chart.
The structure chart can be hidden or shown by selecting the Structure item from the View menu. The relative widths of both the structure chart and the presentation area can be adjusted by placing the cursor in the dark location between the horizontal scroll bars for the structure chart and the presentation area. The cursor takes on the form of a right-left arrow. Move the cursor to the right or left to adjust the relative widths of these two components. Scroll bars are enabled for the structure chart if the chart itself extends either vertically or horizontally beyond its current dimensions. The size of the structure chart can be adjusted by selecting one of the zoom icons from the tool bar. Viewed from left to right, the structure chart displays the ownership relationships among all objects in the layout. Viewed from top to bottom, the structure chart displays the relative Z-Order of each object in the layout.
