Menu item objects can be added only if a menu object already exists within the paint window. Menus are displayed within the paint window as the horizontal menu "bar" at the top of the window.
Menu item objects are added by clicking on the icon in the object gallery that represents the menu item object type. It is generally the right-most icon in the gallery. At some screen resolutions you have to scroll the gallery using the large scroll arrows located at either end for the menu item icon to come into view. When the cursor takes the form of an outline image of the menu item icon, click anywhere within the menu bar. If there are no existing menu items, the one just added appears at the left of the menu bar and the Add Menu Item dialog is displayed. To add additional menu items to the menu bar, perform the same operation, but ensure that when you click in the menu bar, you position the menu item icon cursor to the right of the right-most existing menu item on the bar. To add menu items which are to belong to a menu item on the bar (i.e. to begin creating a menu item list), ensure that you click on top of the menu item on the bar which is to own the new menu item. In order to make a specific menu item which is a member of the list of items belonging to an item on the bar itself the owner of a list of menu items (i.e. make it a "cascade" menu item), you need to manipulate the structure chart. The structure chart provides flexible rearrangement facilities for all types of objects.
There are also other ways to add menu items. You can import menu items from a menu whose definition exists in the Data Dictionary. You can paste menu items which have been either cut or copied from another (or the same) menu. You can also duplicate menu items.
