The Drawing Preferences dialog can be displayed by selecting the Drawing Preferences item from the File menu. This dialog enables you to customize some of the appearance and behavioral characteristics of layout mode. The dialog consists of six sections: Grid, Even Spacing, Margins, Repeat, Clipboard, and Coordinates.
This section enables you to customize the density of the layout mode grid.
Horizontal | This field contains the spacing between horizontal grid points. If grid display has been selected from the View menu, a physical grid point is displayed in accordance with the value in the field Display every immediately below this field. |
Vertical | This field contains the spacing between vertical grid points. If grid display has been selected from the View menu, a physical grid point is displayed in accordance with the value in the field Display every immediately below this field. |
This section enables you to set the spacing values for even spacing operations.
Horizontal | This field contains the horizontal even spacing value. |
Vertical | This field contains the vertical even spacing value. |
This section enables you to set the internal margins for objects which can contain other objects.
Left | This field sets the left internal margin for an object. No owned object can be closer to the left border of the object than this value. |
Right | This field sets the right internal margin for an object. No owned object can be closer to the right border of the object than this value. |
Top | This field sets the top internal margin for an object. No owned object can be closer to the top border of the object than this value. |
Bottom | This field sets the bottom internal margin for an object. No owned object can be closer to the bottom border of the object than this value. |
This section enables you to set the repeat mode for both tool bar and object gallery operations.
Tool bar commands | If selected, layout mode automatically pre-selects the previously selected tool bar command. The pre-selection can be canceled by clicking on the right mouse button. |
Gallery commands | If selected, layout mode automatically pre-selects the previously selected object gallery command. The pre-selection can be canceled by clicking on the right mouse button. |
This section enables you to select if you wish the images of Cut or Copied objects to be rendered into the clipboard.
Render images | If selected, the images of Cut or Copied objects are rendered into the clipboard. Otherwise, they are not. |
This section enables you to select the layout mode coordinate units.
Points | If selected, the coordinate units are in points. |
Decipoints | If selected, the coordinate units are in decipoints (1/10 of a point). |
Twips | If selected, the coordinate units are in Twips (1/20 of a point). |
