The Zim Screen Painter enables Zim's windows to be designed with status bar as a panel at the bottom of the window. The status bar panel has a size grip if the window is re-sizable; the status bar displays menu item and formfield help messages. If a status bar panel exists, all help messages are displayed in it instead of within a message field. The screen painter displays only the window's status bar when it is in test mode.
The status bar appears at the top of the layout screen underneath the Menu bar. The status bar presents information about the currently selected single object. If multiple objects are selected, the status bar displays no information. The components of the status bar are described below.
The text box contains any label text or default value associated with the selected object. The push button containing the ellipsis (...) immediately following the text box can be selected to present a multi-line display of the text for easier editing of long text strings.
To the right of text box, the X,Y coordinates (in the units selected in the Drawing Preferences dialog) of the top-left corner of the selected object are displayed. Below these, the internal width and height of the selected object (in the units selected in the Drawing Preferences dialog) are displayed.
To the right of the X,Y coordinates, the fill (background) and pen (foreground) colors of the selected object are displayed. The color of the outside rectangle is the pen color, and color of the inside rectangle is the fill color. A square annotation in the top-right corner of the outside rectangle indicates that the pen color is inherited from the selected object's parent object. A circle annotation in the top-right corner of the inside rectangle indicates that the fill color is inherited from the selected object's parent object.
To the right of object's colors, the font of the selected object is displayed. If the font style is immediately followed by a superscript circle annotation, this indicates that the font is inherited from the selected object's parent object.
