Exporting Meta Objects Created with the Application Designer

When exporting objects (such as forms and documents) created with the Application Designer, it is important to export the associated meta objects. If Meta Objects are not exported with the generated objects, a developer is not able to use the Application Designer to modify (regenerate) the objects in another database.

The Export Wizard aids the developer in exporting Meta Objects. The developer has two choices when selecting Meta Objects:

• Select all.

• Make a customised selection using the Meta Object Selection Interface.

The Meta Object Selection Interface aids the developer in ‘hand picking’ meta objects. Dependent Meta Objects are easily included by selecting an object and clicking the ‘Select Dependent Objects’ button.

Meta Object definitions are stored in *.CMA files.
