< All Topics

This guide details the process of migrating a database from Zim 8.50 for Windows to Zim 9.00 for Windows.

A) Prepare Original Zim 8.50 Database

1. Backup the original Zim 8.50 database

The migration process does not affect the integrity of the original database.
However, it is always a good practice to back up the data to a safe location, such as a DVD or a network folder.

2 – On the ZIM Base Version 8.50 (Origin)
✓ Start ZimServer
✓ Use ZimQtc to access the Base
✓ At the Zim prompt, use the commands:

✓ Stop ZimServer

B) Prepare Destination Zim 9.00 Database

1 – On the ZIM Base Version 9.00 (Destination)
✓ Copy the PORT directory from 8.50 to 9.00
✓ Start ZimServer
✓ Use ZimQtc to access the Base
✓ At the Zim prompt, use the commands:

✓ On the next screen click “OK”
