Open or Search

The Open or Search action opens a window in which you can specify example data for certain fields in order to query the Object Dictionary. If you do not enter any data into a given field, no selection is done based on that field. For alphanumeric fields, if you enter any data, a search is done for all records whose field value begins with the data entered. For numeric or date fields, if you enter a value, a search is done for records that match that value. If you enter data into more than one field, the search criteria are ANDed together. If you enter no example data, all records are selected.

To perform a search, enter example data and select the OK button. If you decide you do not want to search for a new set of records, select the Cancel button.
